Church of Saint Agnes and St. Paul Event Center
Maria and Conrad are high school sweethearts, and this wedding was a long time coming. The joining of two large Catholic families, a celebration that everyone was looking forward to for some time. I've known the couple for many years, so this wedding was especially close to me. Photographing at my home parish, and recognizing every other guest was so special and so much fun for me. The day started with some details and getting ready candids.
We headed outside for Maria and Conrad's first look. With sisters and bridesmaids peeking through the side doors, the couple shared their first moments together on their wedding day. It was impossible not to smile with these two overflowing with joy and excitement for what was to come. They shared this moment, and then we jumped into couple's portraits around the church.
It was a beautiful day for portraits, so we stayed outside and took bridal party portraits, one of my favorite parts of the day!
The ceremony was beautiful and tearful, and the celebration afterwards was my favorite!
After the ceremony, we scurried away in the sweetest baby clue vintage car to one of my favorite little nooks in Saint Paul for some bridal portraits. I always tell my couples to not worry about rain on your wedding day, accept in willingly and it can create some of the most beautiful photographs. The beautiful diffused light washed over them and the colors popped perfectly.
The reception was a whole jumble of sentimental words, good music, and reconnecting with old friends. The bridal party played a scavenger hunt game that sent them running through tables and had everyone belly laughing. Maria's maid of honor and sister was married just the year before and was unable to have her first dance with her father, so they surprised her with a dance with him after Maria's father-daughter dance. The dance floor was packed all night long with people celebrating the happy couple. My favorite photo of the night is of Maria's parents looking over the dance floor, taking it all in.
