Catedral de Monterry and Quinta Real

Susanna asked me years ago, before David proposed, if I would ever consider flying to Monterrey to photograph their wedding. Overjoyed, of course I said yes, and was even more excited when she reached out after their engagement to see if I had the date available. These two were a long time coming, college sweethearts, and their wedding day was nothing but a reflection of the beautiful love they share.

The weekend started at the Quinta Real Monterrey, where the couple's closest friends and family gathered for a welcome dinner and toasts.

Susanna absolutely loved her thrifted welcome dinner dress, so we of course had to take some portraits of the couple before the night was over. They had so much fun flirting and twirling around the hotel, a perfect way to end the night before their wedding.

We woke up on the day of the wedding and I went with the girls to get ready! They snacked on sandwiches and fruit, and helped each other get ready.

Now it was time to see her groom!

And more portraits proceeded, and the couple was joined by their bridal party.

The couple rode to the Catedral de Monterrey in a rented vintage car, a custom in Mexican culture.

And the ceremony followed! In a church so filled with color and vaulting arches, music as beautiful as there was, and a service so full of tradition, it was impossible not to raise your eyes and hearts to heaven. Custom to Mexican culture, along with the vows, the couple chose to celebrate with the traditions of the arras and the cord, signifying their life-long commitment and bond.

Joyous celebration followed!

Dinner was held back at the Quinta Real, a delicious three course meal and drinks. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and fun, everyone was excited to have a good evening!

What followed was the most epic dance party I have ever had the privilege of being a part of. Complete with a live band, balloons, a dance-floor-wide parachute, a playground slide, and some of the best dance moves my lens has ever seen. It was the best way to end a perfect day!
